On the 6th and 7th of February, cohort 1-4 of the Atoms-2-Products Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) together with Prof. Pat Guiry and Melanie Baur attended the EPSRC and SFI CDT in Sustainable Chemistry Winter Showcase at the University of Nottingham.
The Atoms-2-Products CDT is a four-year PhD programme in Sustainable Chemistry providing advanced training and education, enabling CDT graduates to work in academia, industry and related sectors. The event programme included keynote presentation by Dr. Elaine O’Reilly (BiOrbic/UCD), Dr. Liam Ball (UoN) and Dr. Andrew Marr (Queen’s University Belfast) as well as presentations by 4th year University of Nottingham and BiOrbic CDT students (Ciara Lynch, Raphael Abolivier, Peter McDermott and Declan Galvin.
Poster sessions provided 2nd and 3rd year CDT students from both institutions with an opportunity to talk about their work and foster collaborations.
The cherry on the cake: Ciara Lynch took home the prize for best talk while Fionn McNeill came 2nd in the poster competition. Thank you to the organisation team at the University of Nottingham for such a great event and hosting us!
