Amber Barry is a passionate medicinal chemistry graduate who is currently focused on carrying out her PhD in biocatalysis and biocatalytic methodology for the synthesis of high-value chiral compounds. She is working under the supervision of Dr Elaine O’Reilly in UCD (www.oreillyresearchgroup.com ). Her passion is using organic synthesis alongside enzymes to synthesise medicinal products.

Amber is researching the development of convergent biocatalytic transformations, to combine biocatalysis and organocatalysis, for the generation complex alkaloids.
