The Food Waste Problem

It’s not just a waste of our natural resources when food gets thrown away.

If food isn’t recycled it can end up being driven to the landfill along with the rest of our rubbish.

Food waste in the landfill is a big problem. As it decomposes it releases methane, a gas four times more potent than carbon dioxide!

Food also reacts with metals in other bits of rubbish to produce a toxic sludge.
