When you recycle your plastic, it goes to a recycling plant.

There, machines sort it, shred it, melt it down and shape it into reusable plastic pellets. Companies then buy these pellets to make new products.

It’s important your recycling is loose so the machines can sort it and clean and dry so that the end product is good enough for companies to buy.

You should also know, plastic can only be recycled 2-3 times before it’s useless! So avoiding plastic is really the best option.
