Webinar: Open Science and Data Management in research proposals

BiOrbic, iCRAG and I-Form SFI Centres once again joined forces to deliver a research funding training webinar on, ‘Open Science and Data Management in research proposals.’ This webinar was the eighth consecutive webinar organised by these three SFI centres as part of their joint undertaking and collaborative programme, ‘Guide to Research Funding: From a SFI Centre Perspective’.

The event took place on Wednesday 8th November and attracted over 50 registrations. We had an excellent panel of speakers consisting of: Michelle Dalton, Head of Research Services at UCD Library; Aoife Coffey, Research Data Services at the Boole Library in UCC; and Dr Victoria Tsoukala, Policy Officer from DG Research in the European Commission.

We discussed open science in Horizon Europe Programmes, FAIR and Open Data in Horizon Europe and Dr Victoria Tsoukala introduced us to the European Commission’s open access publishing venue, ‘Open Research Europe.’

Our joint research funding programme has been running for over two years and has addressed important topics relevant to researchers of all three Centres. This programme is going from strength to strength, attracting excellent speakers and averaging 50 registrations per event.
