Plastic in the Ocean
Plastic often ends up in the ocean when it’s not recycled properly.
There it breaks down into ‘microplastics‘ that are small enough to be eaten by fish and other animals. The plastic fills their stomach and they can die. They also can be eaten by us, so we end up eating plastic!
Plastic also takes decades and even centuries to break down and can cause all sorts of harm to ocean environments in the meantime.
