Pint of Science: Back to Nature

Should we avoid all plastic? And how do we get everyone on board with sustainability?

These were some of the topics covered at BiOrbic’s first event in collaboration with Pint of Science! We heard about how we can capture CO2 to make ‘bioplastic’, as well as how we might convince the public to use more ‘bio-based’ products by analysing consumer behaviour. The full line-up of speakers was as follows:

  • Consumers: What can we all do? – Nima Nejadrezaei
  • Should we avoid all plastic? – Rituparna Duarah
  • Reverse Lungs: Global problem to sustainable solution! – Tomislav Horvat
  • Sustainability: How do we get everyone on board? – Mina Sadeghzadeh

The event completely filled the function room of the Stag’s Head in Dublin and gave everyone some food for thought! Well done to our researchers who spoke in public for the first time in a long-time!
