School Students research in BiOrbic labs wins awards!

Huge congratulations to Juliette, Aoife and Honor from Loreto College, St Stephens Green for coming first in the Biological and Ecological Senior category at the BT Young Scientist competition as well as winning the life sciences awards at the SciFest national final!

Julitette, Aoife, and Honor visited the BiOrbic labs during the summer of 2022 to do research into biodegradable plastics and enzymes to break down this bio plastic. They worked with Professor Kevin O Connor, Professor Tanja Narancic, Rhys Orimaco, and Dr Meg Walsh on their project.

Read about their experience at the labs in our previous blog post here.

We are so delighted for them on their double win and we so pleased we were able to assist them in their experiments. Looking forward to see you in our labs again. Well done again girls!
