BiOrbic Hosts February Bioeconomy Forum

Today BiOrbic welcomed members of the Bioeconomy Forum to University College Dublin for their February meeting. The day started with tours of our Biomanufacturing Suite, where researchers working on sustainable, bio-based plastic from bacteria discussed their latest innovations and the next steps for scaling up the technology.

Back at the forum venue, members were able to enjoy lunch while chat to some of our PhD students who presented their work as posters. Finally, the meeting itself kicked off with some insightful presentations and lively discussions. Topics that were covered included the upcoming Bioeconomy Strategy which will be drafted later this year.
