Oscar completed his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering with an emphasis on process intensification and renewable energies from the National University of Colombia in 2017. He obtained his Master's Degree in Engineering-Chemical Engineering by studying the modeling, simulation and control of the anaerobic digestion process from the National University of Colombia in 2021. Currently, he is a Ph.D. researcher at University College Dublin School Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering through the Talent4BBI Early Career Researcher doctoral programme managed by BIOrbic.
His key work interests are renewable energies, as well as modeling, simulation and control of bioprocesses, mainly of the anaerobic digestion process, where he has 5 years of work experience in areas of production, process management and research in this technology. His latest project focused on the implementation, operation and study of a pilot plant for biomethane production using fish waste in the Colombian Pacific.
